Workout Recap - Running on Saturday, August 10th

I did another double workout! I ran Saturday morning, and then did a hike Saturday afternoon. The run was much more difficult than the hike, but also took a lot less time.

I hadn't run outside in so long I was a bit nervous. It turned out okay though. I needed a walk break after the first 2 1/3 miles, but after not too long I was able to start running again, and did an additional 1/2 mile.

Here are my splits:
1/4 mile: 2:21, average pace 9:24
1/2 mile: 4:42, average pace 9:24
3/4 mile: 7:12, average pace 9:36

Then Saturday afternoon we went hiking - we went to Crabtree Falls, which is a really nice hike along a waterfall. It was about 2 miles up, and then 2 miles back down, and we did it in 1 hr 45 minutes. I used the heart rate monitor to get an idea of how hard you have to work while hiking. According to the website, an approximate estimate based on my weight would be 1392 calories. I didn't burn quite that much!

Average Heart Rate: 124
Maximum Heart Rate: 155
